§ who runs this, and why

Orchestrix is run by Alex Sais. A decade fixing operations for businesses like yours. Our job is to untangle the systems your team works around every day, and we pull in trusted collaborators when a build needs specialist hands.

An independent consultancy for small businesses with 5–50 staff drowning in sticky-tape systems. A decade untangling broken operations for businesses from small professional practices up to global manufacturers running twelve factories across five countries.

Started by listening.

“I was walking into a meeting to sell them software. Instead I just listened to what was actually broken. By the time I left, I was saying ‘yeah, I can fix that. Here’s the approach, here’s the tech’.”

That’s the whole story. Orchestrix exists because most consultants arrive with a solution looking for a problem. It’s faster, more profitable, and the strategy decks are pre-built. We work the other way round: show up, shut up, watch how the team actually works, then build the exact thing that makes the pain stop.

That’s it. There’s no founding mythology, no 10X pivot, no venture-backed origin story. One engineer who got tired of watching small UK businesses pay good money for bad software and started fixing it.

“The bureau” is the name on the door. One operator at the core, trusted collaborators when a build needs them.

Ten years of
broken operations.

One operator at the core. A decade in the field. Bilingual English/French. Based in Nottingham, working with businesses anywhere. No formal certifications. The track record speaks.

Ten years untangling broken operations across the full size range: small professional practices, regional firms, and global manufacturers running twelve factories across five countries. The work spans licence consolidation, infrastructure rebuilds, custom software, workflow automation, and full IT budget ownership. But it’s always the same job: map what the team actually does, find what’s broken, build the exact thing that fixes it.

Earlier career: part of a core team that scaled a fast-growing UK operation from 11 HQ staff to 60, plus 800+ field staff, before a successful private equity exit in 2020. Started as a compliance officer. Ended as lead of recruitment and operations. That’s where the ‘watch how the team actually works’ instinct comes from. Years of being on the team whose work was being optimised by people who clearly hadn’t watched.

Now Orchestrix is run by Alex, with trusted collaborators pulled in when a build needs specialist hands. We focus on small UK businesses that need custom software, business automation, workflow audits, custom websites, and managed hosting: the five things in the catalogue. Every engagement is scoped personally. The work, the relationship, and the accountability all sit with the same operator. No account manager in the middle, no handoff to a delivery team, no junior trying to parse a badly-written ticket.

Four rules,
never broken.

Saying what we won’t do is as important as saying what we will. These four rules are the things that make the promise believable.

01Rule

No decks.

A deck is what people produce when they haven’t done the work. Triage is a conversation. The audit deliverable is a systems map and a punch list, not a forty-slide PowerPoint.

02Rule

No templated builds.

Every engagement starts from how your team already works. If we show up with a shelf-stocked solution and say ‘this’ll do’, that’s not a custom build, that’s Xero.

03Rule

No hourly billing theatre.

Every engagement is either a fixed-fee project or a fixed-fee retainer. No ‘we billed 83 hours this month’ invoices. The number’s agreed before work starts. That’s what you pay.

04Rule

No fake team.

Orchestrix is run by Alex with trusted collaborators when a build needs specialist hands. No invented headcount, no account manager between you and the work. You’re hiring a small operation precisely because you don’t want a big one.

actually broken?

A 15-minute chat costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Half the time we’ll tell you straight we’re not the right fit and point you at someone who is. The other half, there’s a real plan on the table within a fortnight.
